Annual Giving Levels

Your generous donations help fund the core elements of our programming; client services, housing location, placement, financial counseling, family support services, and more. Our services target the local area here in Alexandria, VA, so you can take pride in knowing that your gift is an investment in our local community. Transforming Lives | $25,000/year or $2,083/month
Your gift would help GSH fund 4 unit turnovers and rehabs. By doing so, you will make affordable, safe, high-quality and suitable housing for 4 households who are without stable housing.
Building a Community | $10,000/year or $833/month
Your gift would help GSH provide a one-time financial grant to over 28 households in crisis that are facing eviction, and preventing them from becoming homeless. Last year, we served over 466 households in our ES program.
Investing in a Dream | $5,000/year or $416/month
Your gift would help GSH ensure that 20 children in our housing programs do not miss out on critical after-school and extracurricular enrichment activities like summer camp, music lessons and STEM programs. This year, we provided over 20 youth with access to enrichment activities in our Children’s Resource program.
Enabling Self-Sufficiency | $2,500/year or $208/month
Your gift would help GSH prepare over 40 backpacks full of school supplies for children to ensure that they are prepared with all of the materials for a bright new school year. This year, we assisted 96 youth in our Children’s Resources program with backpacks and school supplies.
Creating Opportunity | $1,000/year or $83/month
Your gift would help GSH provide a security deposit or first month’s rent to a homeless or at-risk household facing housing barriers such as financial/budgeting problems, mental or physical health issues, or domestic abuse, and therefore helping them to cross the bring to affordable housing in the community. Last year, we supported 30 households in our HTP program.
Inspiring Hope | $500/year or $41/month
Your gift would help GSH provide 12 households moving into our housing program with necessities like linens, dishes and towels, thereby allowing them to focus on more important regularly budgeted expenses like healthcare and transportation. Last year, three households graduated from our ABC program, and moved into long-term, permanent housing.
Offering a Hand Up | $250/year or $21/month
Your gift would help GSH provide 25 households moving into our housing programs with welcome baskets filled with cleaning supplies, grocery cards, or hygiene products, enabling them to take care of their new apartment and to stick to their budget immediately after being housed. Last year, 14 new households moved into our ABC housing program.

Your support is essential to provide our community’s working-class families with a fresh start toward stable housing. Through the generosity of individuals and organizations, GSH is able to ensure that local families in need receive the tools to create their own success and stable futures.
