At Good Shepherd Housing, we are committed to helping our residents access the most secure housing they can afford. That’s why we were delighted to have 20 residents RSVP to our three-part event series on first-time homebuying in June. During the first week, they learned about homeownership basics from Chris Reddick, GSH board member and mortgage expert with National Capital Bank of Washington. The following week, residents learned about the different mortgage types, down payments, and closing cost assistance programs with Regina Pinkney of Virginia Housing. Finally, GSH residents received information about Fairfax County’s first-time buyers program. Whether they’re just starting to dream or ready to begin budgeting, 20 GSH residents are a few steps closer to homeownership, thanks to the expertise of our generous presenters.
