By the time Trevor’s wife died after a long journey with cancer, his finances were already in a difficult place. He wasn’t working as he cared for his wife, drawing on his savings and receiving help from his father to cover his expenses while he prioritized her care. When she passed away, he then had funeral expenses to grapple with. Tragically, a week after her passing, Trevor’s father was hit by a car and also died. In addition to his incredible grief, Trevor needed to help his mother with the cost of his father’s funeral. He came to Good Shepherd Housing for help with December and January rent, which he had no additional funds to cover. GSH provided the assistance so Trevor could get through his difficult time and make a plan for rebuilding his financial future. He now has a job and will be able to cover his expenses going forward.
