An Eye Injury and a Utility Disconnection

Carl recently visited Good Shepherd Housing looking for assistance. At the end of September, his fiancée injured her eye, and was forced to miss a full week of work. That lost half a paycheck caused the couple to get behind on their bills, and by November, their utility company sent them a disconnect notice.

Through our Emergency Assistance program, GSH was able to step in and pay off the balance. The couple was grateful, that not only is she feeling better, but thanks to GSH, the lights and the heat have stayed on, especially as the colder weather is now setting in.
