HomeAid Renovation Is Underway

by | Nov 2, 2016

HomeAid Northern Virginia kicked off the renovation project of one of our units in Hagel Circle this week. We couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come!

You may remember reading about the family we moved in earlier this spring who received almost a full home of furniture from a generous donor. Well, thanks to HomeAid, their apartment will have a brand new update just in time for the holidays.

The contractors have re-imagined the dining room and kitchen area, which currently are just two small rooms, but after the renovation will be an “open concept” kitchen and eating area. Everything in the kitchen will be brand new, including counter tops, appliances and flooring.

Both bathrooms are being gutted and will have all new fixtures.

Two of the closets in the home are getting new doors, which is far more exciting than it sounds! Currently these closets have 1970s style sliding doors that no longer open easily. The doors are being removed, re-framed, and new doors will be installed.

The wood floors on the first floor and the stairs are being completely refinished. The final piece is the front door which is having its frame repaired.

See below for “before” photos! Stay tuned for the final product.
