Boy Scouts Beautify Hagel Circle
We were excited to have the Boy Scout Troop from Burke that meets at St. George’s United Methodist Church visit our units in Hagel Circle and landscape the yards.
It was a beautiful fall day for the twelve scouts and four of their fathers who worked for three hours to beautify five homes. They placed mulch around all the bushes in front of the homes, and planted a flat of pansies at each home.
The scouts also helped move our family who is having their home renovated this month thanks to HomeAid Northern Virginia.
During their service project, they visited with our COO, Lesley Hatch, and learned about affordable housing. They were curious as to how GSH acquires housing and how we are able to help other families through our Emergency Services program.
And the possible highlight of the day? One of the boys lost a tooth!
A big thank you to the Boy Scouts who helped brighten up all of our units in Hagel Circle!
