Out of the Blocks

by | Oct 26, 2016

Through its Consolidated Community Funding Pool (CCFP), Fairfax County awards funding to county-wide non-profit providers.

In May 2016, we learned that GSH had been awarded $404,500 in CCFP funds for FY2017/18. The funds will be used to acquire and renovate two or more units in our service area. This award represents a 30 percent increase in funding from FY2015 and FY2016 and will make an impact on the number of families we can serve in the coming years.

Only two non-profits were provided CCFP housing acquisition funding – ourselves and Cornerstones Housing Corporation.

Last week, the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) announced that GSH and Cornerstones Housing can now access the funding that was awarded last May for their housing purchases. Read the original press release here.

So, we are “out of the blocks.” We are searching for the right kind of housing to make into that special GSH housing.
